Assumption Secondary School
Picture

The transition from primary to secondary school can be both an exciting and challenging period.  Assumption Secondary School is aware of the many possible difficulties and challenges that students may encounter during their secondary school years.

Each Junior Cycle class is assigned a Class Tutor who takes the class for S.P.H.E. and, if possible, another academic subject.  The Class Tutor is seen as a go-to person if an individual student is experiencing academic, emotional or social difficulties.

Students with special needs receive individual attention from Special Needs Assistants.  Assumption Secondary School is an inclusive school that strives to optimise the teaching and learning outcomes for all students so that they can acquire the personal, social and academic skills to allow them to achieve success and participate fully in school life.

Tuigeann an scoil gur doiligh an t-aistriú ón bhunscoil go dtí an mheánscoil agus go bhfuil sult le baint as an tréimhse, bíodh sé go bhfuil dushlán ann maraon leis sin.

Bheirtear oide ranga d’achan rang sóisearach, a ghníonn an OSPS agus má thig, ábhair acadúla eile.  Má bhíonn d’fhadhb acadúil, shóisialta nó thochtach ar dhaltaí, is i muinín an duine seo in am an ghátair.

Bheirtear aird ar leith ar scoláirí a bhfuil riachtanais speisialta orthu.  Ní dhéantar leithcheal ar aon duine sa scoil agus bíonn sí i gcónaí ag dréim le sároideachas a sholáthar d’ár gcuid scoláirí sa dóigh is go mbeadh said in ann is in inmhe gabhail i ngleic leis an tsaol.
