Welcome to Assumption Secondary School. Located in the heart of Walkinstown in south-west Dublin, we are a Catholic voluntary secondary school under the trusteeship of the Religious Sisters of Charity. The school was founded as a Catholic day school in 1962. The order of the Religious Sisters of Charity (previously known as the Irish Sisters of Charity) was founded by Mary Aikenhead.
Our school motto is Caritas Christi Urget Nos meaning 'The Love of Christ urges us on' and forms the cornerstone of our teaching and educational philosophy. We strive to educate the whole person - academically, spiritually and emotionally - in a learning atmosphere that promotes growth, creativity and kindness.
While the school continues to maintain its Catholic ethos, it welcomes and accommodates religious diversity. Thus we strive to create an inclusive and warm learning environment that fosters learning and social responsibility.
