Parents / Guardians of 2nd year students
Our school is taking part in the Demonstration Project on In-school and Early Years Therapy Support. This is a joint project by the Department of Education and Skills, the Department of Health and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
The project involves school staff, project Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), project Occupational Therapists (OTs) and families working together to support the learning of all students. 75 schools and 75 early years settings are taking part in the project.

As part of this project, our allocated Occupational Therapist will support your daughter’s SPHE class teacher in implementing the "Decider Life Skills Programme". The "Decider Life Skills Programme" is an evidence based intervention focusing on how to understand and manage emotions. The programme teaches young people effective coping skills before they need them and helps to build resilience and positive mental health. Please see the project leaflet for more information. A parent training workshop in relation to the "Decider Life Skills Programme" will also be arranged and you will receive an invitation to this at a later date.

The Decider Skills programme is being delivered to all second year students as part of our Wellbeing and SPHE Programme.
